Doing Business with ECS
How to Become an ECS Tenant

Prospective tenants must meet two prerequisites before placing cables in ECS's conduit system.

First, prospective tenants must obtain permission from the City of New York to occupy the streets. Typically, this involves obtaining a written franchise or revocable consent from the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT). To obtain a franchise, you must contact the NYC DOT Division of Franchises, Concessions and Consents which is located at 40 Worth Street, 9th Floor South, New York, NY 10013. The telephone number is (212) 442-8040 and the fax number is (212) 442-8070.

Second, prospective tenants must provide ECS a certificate of insurance, naming ECS as an additional insured, with coverage of $2,000,000 general commercial liability per incident and $2,000,000 excess coverage, and hold ECS harmless from any injury or damage which may occur as a result of the tenant's activities in ECS's system. Insurance certificates must be renewed annually and mailed or faxed to ECS's Customer Service Center (ECSC). The ECSC is located at 140 West Street, 7th Floor, N.Y., NY-10007. The telephone number is (212) 276-0760.
